The United States Ambassador to The Gambia, C. Patricia Alsup has inspired young Gambian entrepreneurs during graduation ceremonies for 17 Startup Incubator clients in Kanifing
The young entrepreneurs graduated after completing months of training at the Center. The 17-client cohort joins several other Gambian entrepreneurs who have gone through the Incubator since its establishment three years ago.
In remarks to the new graduates, Ambassador C. Patricia Alsup congratulated them for the commitment and steadfastness demonstrated throughout the program.
Ambassador remarks: “Entrepreneurship and job creation will continue to play a critical role in the development of The Gambia. The Gambia will not develop if we ignore the vital need to connect young people with the right opportunities. Governmental policies and programs must be established that will support The Gambia’s entrepreneurs and unlock their full potential. All of us can play a role in making this happen. The government must lead in establishing the legal and institutional structures to support private enterprise. The private sector and other development partners must build on these structures by mobilizing the necessary resources and materials that allow youth to develop their ideas.”
