Ambassador Preaches Religious Harmony in Rural Gambia

Ambassador C. Patricia Alsup recently co-hosted an Iftar dinner in Mansa Konko in the Lower River Region (LRR).  During her remarks, she enjoined faith and community leaders in the region to nurture religious harmony and peaceful co-existence.  “In The Gambia, it is easy for one to find mosques and churches adjacent to each other with their various worshippers exchanging pleasantries at every meeting opportunity. Stories like these are heartening and inspiring!  However, we must consolidate these gains and continue to jealously guard and preserve these values for our children and future generations,” she urged.
