Call for Proposals: Julia Taft Refugee Fund for FY 2024
February 9, 2024

Minimum Award Amount: $10,000

Maximum Award Amount: $24,999

Deadline: March 8, 2024

Background and Funding Opportunity Description:

The U.S. Embassy in Banjul, in partnership with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM), invites proposals for the Julia Taft Refugee Fund from potential partners dedicated to assisting refugees in The Gambia. This funding opportunity aims to address crucial gaps in refugee protection and assistance with low-cost interventions.

Eligibility Criteria and Funding Guidelines:

The funds are designated for sustainable projects (lasting beyond one year) with immediate impact to aid refugees or refugee returnees. Projects involving one-time cash or food distributions, for instance, will not be considered. Preference is given to projects benefiting both refugee populations and their host communities. Proposals exclusively targeting non-refugee populations like Internally Displaced Persons or Migrants will not be considered. The fund is not intended for emergency purposes. Applicants must be registered organizations (e.g., NGOs, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations), with priority given to local NGOs. All proposals must be submitted to BanjulJuliaTaft@state.gov by 11:59 p.m. on March 8, 2024.
