Deputy Assistant Secretary meets with President Barrow

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State covering West Africa and the Sahel Michael Gonzales is in Banjul for a two-day official visit.

 

DAS Gonzales today had a closed-door meeting with the President of the Republic of The Gambia Adama Barrow at State House of The Gambia. He was accompanied to the presidency by Ambassador Sharon Cromer and other senior mission staff from the U.S. Embassy in Banjul. The Deputy Assistant Secretary in the coming days will hold meetings with several senior government officials including cabinet ministers, human rights groups and civil society in The Gambia, and the press.
