Embassy Banjul Celebrates Thanksgiving with Gambian Feast

The Embassy Banjul community came together last week to celebrate Thanksgiving as friends and colleagues.  At the end of the day on Friday, the Local Staff Committee treated their American colleagues to a traditional Gambian delicacy benachin, a savory curried rice dish topped with chicken, beef, and sausage and American colleagues provided an array of desserts.  Chargé d’Affaires, a.i Shelly Seaver and the head of the FSN Committee Masireh Kinteh made short remarks reflecting on all that we have to be grateful for, especially the outstanding employees of the U.S. Embassy in Banjul.  The gathering is one of a series of Embassy internal events to bring together staff to celebrate community and build stronger and lasting connections in the Embassy team.
