Meet Ndey Fatou Jabang, 2019 Mandela Washington Fellow

Ndey Fatou is a unique young entrepreneur who found her entrepreneurial niche in dancing.  A media personality, choreographer, and actress, she is one of the few locally known dance entrepreneurs in The Gambia.  Ndey Fatou began her dance career at her mother’s folk dance group and has since gained international expo, including a dance program program in Sweden in 2008.  Her success inspired her to establish Afriq Divas, an all-girl dance group, and the Flex Fuzion Dance Academy and Entertainment, The Gambia’s only dance company.  Ndey Fatou hosts a radio show on one of the local radio stations, a platform she uses to promote youth in entertainment.  Her goal is to make performing arts an entrepreneurial tool in The Gambia.  Her objective for the Fellowship is to learn and understand the culture of dance in the United States.
