The Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in The Gambia have arranged a special flight for U.S. citizens and U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents departing from the Banjul International Airport in Yundum on the early morning of Friday, April 3, 2020 (Note – there is a chance this date might change). This flight will include stops in several countries to pick up U.S. citizen travelers. From Banjul, the flight will stop in another country in West Africa and will then bring travelers to Dulles International Airport (IAD) in the Washington, DC metro area. The approximate cost of this flight is $1,900 per passenger – please note that the final cost could be more.
All passengers will need to reimburse the U.S. Government for the flight, and a promissory note for approximately $1,900 must be signed before boarding. No cash or credit card payments will be accepted. You will be responsible for any arrangements or costs (lodging, transportation to an onward destination, local transportation, etc.) beyond the flight’s initial destination in the USA. You are also responsible for your own transportation to the Yundum international airport in Banjul. Exact departure date and time and routing are subject to change.
Passengers are allowed 2 checked bags, not exceeding 23 kilograms each and one carry on that can fit under the seat in front of them. There is no ability to purchase additional baggage. Emotional support animals are not allowed on this special evacuation flight. Pets are not allowed on this special evacuation flight.

In the event this flight is full and there is still demand, we will make every effort to arrange additional flights at a later date.
