Message for U.S. Citizens: Update to Special Flight Leaving Banjul – Now Tuesday April 7 (April 4, 2020)
The Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in The Gambia are arranging a special flight for U.S. citizens and U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents departing from the Banjul International Airport in Yundum.
This flight was previously schedule for Monday April 6, but that time has changed. The flight is now scheduled for Tuesday, April 7.
The flight is from Banjul to Dulles International Airport (IAD) in the Washington, DC metro area. The approximate cost of this flight is $1,900 per passenger – please note that the final cost could be more.
NOTE: All passengers on the flight will be subject to health screening at the airport, conducted by Gambian government authorities. Those who have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, to include a fever, will not be allowed to board. Additionally, the Gambian government may immediately subject you to quarantine at a Gambian government-approved quarantine facility.
All passengers will need to reimburse the U.S. Government for the flight, and a promissory note for approximately $1,900 must be signed before boarding. No cash or credit card payments will be accepted. You will be responsible for any arrangements or costs (lodging, transportation to an onward destination, local transportation, etc.) beyond the flight’s initial destination in the USA. You are also responsible for your own transportation to the Yundum International Airport in Banjul. Exact departure date and time and routing are subject to change.
