Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Shelly Seaver recently presided over the Banjul American International School’s (BAIS) annual musical theater performance at the Ebujan Theater. Delivering her remarks, CDA Seaver celebrated the hard work of BAIS students and teachers. She praised the many benefits of musical theater and highlighted continuing United States Government support that allows BAIS to cultivate creative, compassionate, and inquisitive students. The Dr. Seuss themed evening – coinciding with the anniversary of Dr. Seuss’ birthday – showcased a birthday song incorporating Dr. Seuss’ most famous works; a sign language skit, inspired by a local school for the deaf and BAIS. CDA Seaver reiterated the U.S. Embassy’s commitment to supporting BAIS operations and initiatives, which includes a $136,000 USD annual grant for operations.
