The Public Diplomacy and Consular sections of U.S. Embassy Banjul held joint presentations on August 7 for top secondary school students as part of the Bright Stars’ Summer Camp, currently underway in partnership with YMCA Gambia.
More than 50 students, PD-organized Competitive College Clubs across the country are attending the camp. Presentations by Public Affairs Officer, Janel Heird, Consular Officer, Jeff Dirks, and Cultural Affairs Assistant, Hatab Fadera, focused on the U.S. college admission process, student visas, and financial aid. The presentations were followed by a lively Q&A session with the campers.
The Bright Stars’ Summer Camp is funded by the Public Diplomacy section of the U.S. Embassy Banjul. The program offers campers a unique opportunity to build their leadership and academic skills, receive mentorship and complete community service projects that help unlock their potential.
