U.S. Ambassador Hosts National Iftar for Faith, Political Leaders

Ambassador C. Patricia Alsup on May 31st hosted a traditional national Iftar dinner at her residence in Fajara.  The dinner was part of the Embassy’s Ramadan Iftar series meant to promote a message on the importance of religious tolerance and pluralism.  The Iftar brought together faith leaders from diverse religious denominations, government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, civil society representatives, and the U.S. exchange alumni.  Ambassador Alsup and the Chairman of the Committee of Banjul Muslim Elders, Alhaji Alieu Mboge, delivered remarks, encouraging diversity and community peace among Gambians.
