U.S. Congressional Delegation Holds Talks with Gambia’s VP

  • A high-powered United States Congressional Delegation (CoDel) visited The Gambia on Saturday, September 2. The delegation was led by Senator Christopher Coons, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and includes: Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI), Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE), Rep. Terry Sewell (D-AL), Rep. Charlie Dent (R-PA), Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO), and Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL).

The CoDel met with The Gambia’s Vice President Overseer, Ms. Fatoumatta Jallow-Tambajang, Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service, Mr. Dawda Fadera, Finance and Economic Affairs Minister, Mr. Amadou Sanneh, Defense Permanent Secretary, Mr. Assan Tangara, and Police Commissioner Demba Sowe. The Congressional Delegation was on a four-nation tour to Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria, and The Gambia.
